 4<p>people who know me can say that one trait that is prominent in the chld is that chld likes to <s>distrohop</s> well not distrohop, i have already found the only and only linux, <a href=https://alpinelinux.org>alpine</a>. what i meant is, i jump through a bunch of operating systems, from alpine, to BSD, to illumos, to haiku. i can say that its something i can do only in my freetime. i wouldnt say im necessarily larping, but its in the search of a "asthetic" brought just by using the operating system. <i>though, <a href=https://haiku-os.org>haiku os</a> is a completely different story, and it doesnt deserve to be larped.</i></p>

10<b><a href=https://freebsd.org>freebsd</a></b> is linux/freebsd.<br>
11<b><a href=https://openbsd.org>openbsd</a></b> is so slow i can see how inefficient my <a href=https://srcdump.net/chld/xl>xl</a> program is redrawing.<br>
12<b><a href=https://netbsd.org>netbsd</a></b> is perfect, fast, minimal, and portable. i developed my <a href=https://srcdump.net/chld/xl>xl</a> and <a href=https://srcdump.net/chld/xd>xd</a> programs on it. love it. no stable wayland though.<br>
13<b><a href=https://openindiana.org>openindiana</a></b> is good, i guess. <a href=https://github.com/OpenIndiana/oi-userland/discussions/21728>no i965_dri.so though.</a><br>
14<b><a href=https://tribblix.org>tribblix</a></b> is the perfect illumos distro. it has fast svr4 ppackaging and ufs, but <a href=https://aus.social/@jpm/114502754257782029>y2k38</a> or whatever. and no firefox, only the buggy palemoon though. (thank you p. tribble)<br>
15<b><a href=https://haiku-os.org>haiku</a></b> is the best non-UNIX-like operating system. fun to learn and make programs for, <a href=https://srcdump.net/chld/haikuprg>like this</a>, and i breifly <a href=https://srcdump.net/chld/cotton-haiku>ported</a> cotton to it. <sub>(cotton will be getting its own page soon!)</sub><br>
16<b><a href=https://9front.org>9front</a></b> if it had stable wifi, i would be able to take the time to learn and enjoy it. though, its probably my own internet, as i had to tame illumos because its nwam also picked up AP errors.<br>
